MudMap Studio worked together with Nagula Jarndu artists, Martha Lee and Maxine Charlie, to facilitate the delivery of two large public art pieces for the Broome Road Industrial Park.
The concrete sculptural works represent the flora and fauna of the Kimberley region. The works are now major landmarks for the area, welcoming users of the Industrial Park and passers-by coming in to Broome.
MudMap Studio's role included coordination and overseeing of the design and fabrication of these large sculptural works.
“This project is something big and exciting that I will treasure forever and also for my children and grandchildren to be proud of me and what I have done.” Maxine Charlie, Nagula Jarndu artist
“I did this project for my family, the community and for the young ones. It’s good to see Yawuru art around town so people can recognise and respect it and say - hey, that’s good, that’s my family’s art." Martha Lee, Nagula Jarndu artist
